Larry Young is a NASA aerospace engineer specializing in advanced concept development for aerial vehicles, autonomous systems, and planetary exploration systems. He has conducted several large- and small-scale experimental rotorcraft research investigations, particularly those concerned with tiltrotor aircraft. He is an Associate Fellow of the AIAA and a member of the AHS and IEEE. He has led research investigations into mission and aircraft design issues related to planetary aerial vehicles and uninhabited aerial vehicles (both fixed-wing and VTOL). Some of his most recent work has been focused on developing system analysis techniques for defining and tracking technology portfolios, including autonomous system technologies, as well as defining analysis techniques for better understanding and managing of the vehicle/mission conceptualization process.
