Sean Swei has received BS in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University, MS in Mechanical Engineering & Mechanics from Drexel University, and Ph.D. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Purdue University. He had worked in both industry and academia prior to joining NASA Ames in 2000. Sean has developed flight control systems for fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, and also designed the spacecraft attitude control systems for LADEE (Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer). He is currently working on the ARMD Fixed Wing project and the guidance and control concept development for the ADEPT (Adaptable Deployable Entry Placement Technology) planetary entry vehicle. His research interests are in the general area of modeling and control of aircraft/spacecraft systems.
