Welcome
NASA Aeronautics Research Institute (NARI) operates at the nexus of industry, government and academia with an outward-facing approach to monitor trends and aviation needs. NARI’s goal is to develop partnerships that maximize impact to meet future aviation demands and opportunities consistent with Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate strategic thrusts.
University Leadership Initiative (ULI)
This initiative allows universities and university-led partnerships to provide strategic leadership that advances ARMD’s research objectives and promotes education of the next generation of engineers.
International Forum for Aviation Research (IFAR)
IFAR is the world's only aviation research establishment network. Our team is working with IFAR to create capabilities and events to support IFAR virtual events to enhance international collaboration in aeronautics research and connect the future leaders of the aviation industry.

ATM-X Digital Information Platform
The overall goal of NASA’s Digital Information Platform (DIP) as part of the Air Traffic Management (ATM-X) project is to accelerate transformation of the National Airspace System (NAS) and airspace operations through the development of a foundation for advanced, data-driven, digital services for both traditional and emergent operations towards cohesive decision making.
IATA - Up in the Air Blog
The International Air Transportation Association (IATA) in collaboration with NARI has started an Air Traffic Management blog called Up In The Air. It is looking at the COVID-19 disruption and how to restart and build a more resilient and efficient aviation industry.
Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Ecosystem Working Groups
The working groups aim to accelerate the development of safe, high-volume AAM flight operations by bringing together the broad community involved in developing this new capability. We commenced the AAM ecosystem working groups in March 2020 in a virtual forum. Moving forward, there will be continued virtual gatherings to facilitate community engagement and input. Participation offers the opportunity to closely collaborate with NASA and other government organizations towards developing the standards, policies, and operationalization of AAM.
