Frank Gern’s research interests are structures, structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, applied aerodynamics, aircraft design, and the application of artificial intelligence methods to aerospace engineering problems. While at Gulfstream he developed innovative transonic aeroelastic tools and airframe vibration analysis methods for the Gulfstream G650. During his career, he has worked on several major aircraft development programs like the Lockheed Martin Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) now the F-35 Lightning II, F-16 Block 60, and Airbus A350XWB.
