Education
MS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD
MBA from the University of Southern California.

Experience
Aponso oversees operations and research at the Vertical Motion Simulator, Crew Vehicle System Research Facility (CVSRF), and FutureFlight Central. These facilities support Agency research on the Next Generation Air Traffic System (NextGen), Aviation Safety, and Fundamental Aeronautics. They also support the research needs of other Government organizations and Industry. In the area of cockpit avionics, Mr. Aponso is leading an effort to upgrade the simulation software and cockpit avionics for the Advanced Concepts Flight Simulator (ACFS) at the CVSRF to meet future NextGen research requirements. Mr. Aponso's technical background includes vehicle modeling and simulation, stability and control, and handling qualities.
